I have got word that he has passed. I don’t know any details. Anyone in the 944 world will know his Site “Clarks Garage” It has been a staple in the 944 community since the 1990s. I got to know Clark over the internet. I have been an admin over there for quite some time. I don’t know what will become of the site.
I'm not sure there's anyone that has done more for the 944 community than Clark. RIP, and thank you for all the help.
That's sad to hear. I was literally on that site three times this evening reading how-to's about a few things for the 924. Bummed.
George from 944ecology and I have been doing the admin things for quite some time now. I am going to give it some time but I would like to keep the site up and running in his memory. I will reach out to his family eventually. But now is not the time. I will also see what George’s thoughts are.
My condolences to his wife and family. He left us way to soon. I am going to miss him. He was like gravity and taxes. You could always count on him.
It would take hours but I am going to set out and download all of the shop manual. It is something that needs to be preserved. The hundreds if not thousands of hours that went in to it. It would be a shame to loose it.
Sad to hear, I am a frequent visitor to the site, great tech.
I pulled down the entire garage manual in PDF form and couple pages were cut and pasted to word as Clark had not made PDF's of them yet. I may go back and pull the site version of the shop manual that would get me the links between pages.
I can not get the database for the Forum. That I need the admin password for the domain and I don't have that access. I am only an admin on the forum.

If you know who has the account with the hosting service (hopefully not Clark) they should be able to help you out.
It was Clark. I spoke to George today and he pulled a copy of the site down as well so at least between the two of us we have enough to recreate the site if we have to. We also agreed that this should sit for a month or so before I approach the family about this.
Bummed to hear that. Always my first stop when doing a new-to-me 944 job. Condolences to the family.

That stinks man. That was a guy doing what he did because he loved doing it.

That site is gold for 944 information. Clark was a great guy and will be missed by the 944 community. Condolences to his family.
@Dean: I have the same name on that site. Please feel free to contact me if you need any assistance with the site. I've been working with phpbb and hosting for many years.
Dean, I'm sure you're busy with all this, but I didn't even realize there was a forum there (I have always just had a direct link to the workshop manual page and never realized there was more to the site!). Would it be possible for you to register me so I can scour it like a madman just in case it goes away or something? If you want to keep it static for the moment, no worries - totally understandable.
I have never registered anyone. Clark always did it. I will see if I can.
And it looks like the Forum has crashed. I may actually be a good excuse to reach out sooner than later.
The family probably has no idea how much impact he had and how many of us out here relied on him as the go-to 944 site. I wish there was a condolence section that could be created to send thoughts to the family.
I wonder if it is overloaded from people going there ir if there is in deed a problem.
