Google is failing me, so I'm yielding to the GRM forums to see if any of you can find what I'm looking for.

A year or two ago I stumbled onto a website that outlined a group of friends and their yard kart racing. The trick is, they were all one-wheel drive and they were all styled like 1930s racers (Bugatti T35s and Alfa 6Cs, etc). If memory serves me right, they made some tracks with light gravel all around this guy's property.

Anyone know of this at all? I can't find the original link to save my life.

They look a hell of a lot like this, just with metal frames and an engine: http://thegokart.wordpress.com/

Any help is appreciated.

R&T did an article on Cycle Karts some years ago. I've wanted to build one ever since. Maybe we need a special cycle kart challenge at the GRM $2012 Challenge???

To think. The things I had to do for you to say that to me.

Better put some limits on it or one of these guys would throw a Hayabusa in it.

FYI cyclecarts has a decent yahoo group. As near as I can tell, the guys who started making them have moved on, but there seems to be another wave so-to-speak. I've promised my son that we'll have one running for the next July 4th parade.

I seem to remember that the originators of the cycle karts used some obscure, hard to find wheel size to get the scale "right". Any idea what the current wave of builders use?

Web site says they use the 17" wheel from a Honda Passport/Cub/Trail 70 or 90 as a standard wheel. While this is the most produced vehicle EVER, they are a bit scarce in the USA since they stopped importing them in 1983. It was reintroduced under license to a Taiwan company under the name "Symba".

There was a cycle kart frame on ebay last week. Wheels are still about $20. I can't stop thinking about their big brother - 600cc version.

Now I'm praying for the end of time, to hurry up and arrive! Cause if I have to spend another minute with you, I don't think that I can really survive.

They seem cheap, fun, and very GRMish. What am I missing?

Newer components list, and the cyclekart site doesnt give plans to build them. Maybe the yahoo group has that info but i detest yahoo groups. Why are they stuck in the 1990s internet?

I will build one if I can find a blueprint and component list.

And power it with double digit power.
