this is my deal of the day. one of those deals you do not pass up. this will come in handy when i convert the belair to EFI in the spring.

holley SBC Vortec head EFI intake retail $455 - paid $200

holley fuel rail kit retail $255 - paid $100

$710 total retail, $300 on the clearance rack. nothing wrong, looks like it was a display intake and i'm not sure why the rails were on clearance but i do not care.

now to shop for a deal on injectors, engine management, and a throttle body, and a high pressure fuel pump....

Daaaamn. I wish I was anywhere near one of the actual stores to be able to find stuff like this! The fuel rail kit is something I'm guessing I'm going to need myself when I hopefully pick up a Weiand 7542 Stealth Ram for my Vortec-head SBC after next year's Challenge. If you ever see one of THOSE on the clearance rack for anywhere near that kind of a discount ($250 or less, the non-chromed ones retail for a bit under $400), I'll more than happily reimburse you for snagging it for me!

Good score Pat. That's why I like living a mile away from Summit! Most of my stuff I buy off the clearance table.

almost forgot - also scored a 1 1/8" adjustable rear sway bar for the new 90 c1500 for $40 marked down from $232.

megasquirt - i assume it can control a small cap GM HEI with remote coil? i have a new one of those i would like to use but if necessary i could get the big one with the coil in the cap.

throttle body i'm wishing i still had my holley 1000cfm billet one off the corvette but i sold that with my superram. i actually have a new caddy northstar TB with sensors and i think it pulls the throttle open from the front instead of the rear, so if it's big enough i could make an adapter and bolt it on the intake straight up like the vortec 350's had. also have a 454 vortec throttle body out on the parts suburban, and injectors from the same. i have plenty of gm harness to cut up to make my own.
