Log ago, I recall someone here was speaking about a clutch-type LSD they had custom made for their application (a FWD car). While I had that information bookmarked in the past, that computer is unfortunately log gone. Can anyone point me in the direction of a vendor who has the capability to do this? Think something along the lines of fitting a OS Giken Super Lock (or similar) in a Neon transaxle.
Before anyone asks, I do understand how absurd the above statement sounds. After all, this is GRM.
Sounds like trucke's custom 1-way clutch-type that he put in his Corolla FX hatch. I also asked him about it and I have the contact info for the person who made it, although that was a good few years ago. Try sending him a PM:

Is this what you seek? All parts are machined to be parallel, perpendicular, and have the proper surface finish. Plates are a proprietary material. Springs selected based upon driveline and horsepower.
After 10 years and 25k miles, it still works great!!!!
I had one of those in my ZX2SR. Better than none.
That looks like the same concept as a Phantom Grip device, which has 2-way operation.

Phantom Grip is a poorly conceived clone. Once PG was sold, the new owners ordered my friend to cease and desist making theses LSD's.
His reply was a nice letter, along with a copy of the receipt where the PG creator bought one from him. The date on the receipt predated the start of the PG company. He never heard back! LOL!
What's your buddies contact? I need the good/inexpensive stuff for my neon acr....
For whatever reason, my PMs aren't working.
What I am recalling is a little bit different than what was pictured above, however. This was basically clutch-type differential (think 8.8 Traction-Lok or similar) internals with a custom housing to fit the desired application.
Trucke, does your friend still make those?

In reply to Rocambolesque :
I'm sure he does. However, there is a line for his services.
In reply to trucke :
Would he be interested in licensing his design? Which is to suggest some good GRM machinist can help make them for him..... I can't see the design all that close, but it appears to me that the blocks are the long lead item on there, so if he can get the inner parts reasonably quickly, getting some help to make the shells may speed his work up.
Maybe?

In reply to alfadriver :
He makes blanks ahead of time and performs final machining for each application.
You can ask him, but after 30 years he insists on making all parts himself. Something about a reputation.

Okay folks. Contact information for a custom clutch style LSD. With permission.
email contact: Seckerich@att.net
He is booked through Run-offs, but can make some over the winter.
In reply to trucke :
That's fair, just trying to help him deliver more product to customers. (I'm not a machinist, so I, personally, can't help)
