I have a coffee can filled with concrete. It holds my rowboat in a swift stream 4 feet deep with 10 ft of rope tied to it.

I was more refering to the kind you drill into a garage floor and pull up to wedge in place...

They don't work well on my yacht. I tried 55 gallon drums filled with concrete but the swell would make them roll. I think I'm be able to afford an anchor after BP pays me all that money to clean the oil globules off the sides.

lol, I wasn't talking about boat anchors guys, I'm talking about the little do-hickeys in garage shop floors that act as tiedowns, also for aircraft (small craft) when they're parked outside...?

I have installed something similar on an airport ramp. The type we used required a hole 8-10 inches in diameter cut entirely through to the soil, then filled with concrete. They had about 30,000# rating if I recall. I can find out who manufactured those if you would like.

I've used Redhead concrete anchors. But the water leaks through the hull around the hole.
