Im considering trading a perfectly good, full size fun truck for a boring slow daily so that im not tempted to beat on it and or turn it into a project!

Probably the worst car I have owned is my 91 Camaro, and I still like it.

I like stickered up factory cars, side stripes, big gaudy firebird decals on the hoods of 70's Trans Am's, Whatever the hell that cobra decal thing was on the Mustang Cobra II. I like spoilers, spats, and hood scoops. I had a permed mullet in the 80's.

Confessing to the mullet was a bit much, but I'm sure I would've kept it's permedness a secret to the grave. (Former long haired hippie here)

I don't like Ken Block/gymkhana videos. They aren't very interesting and it seems stupid to be destroying tires like that without going very fast.

I guest drift kids like em but not my cup o tea.

When I saw the one with the mustang I wondered how it would do on a race course. But I did appreciate the video. I thought it was cool and fun.

As a cornfed american whiteboy I love a good burnout and donuts as much as the next guy, but I dont get drifting. I like the cars. I think driving like that would be a ton of fun. But it just does nothing for me and I dont know why.

Motorsports bore me. I'm 40 and I've never intentionally sat through an entire race. I enjoy driving immensely, I enjoy driving the occasional autocross, and I haven't tried track driving yet but I'm sure I'll enjoy it too but maybe not enough to justify the cost. But watching some other guy drive? why would I want to do that? Of course, I also can't watch more than 15 min of football, even when it's my alma mater.

Another one? As much as I like going fast around cones and seeing my name at the top of my class in a local event, if I can't prep my car in 15 minutes, it's too much work. I'd rather just drive and have a good time and be last than to spend even a half hour sweating tiny details to be at the top.

...and yet I still subscribe to the mag and spend time here. Strange.

I've tried, believe me. Changed the T-stat, flushed the heater core, blocked off the radiator, unbolted the cooling fan. The engine temp barely comes off of cold even on a hot day. And yes, the temp sender and gauge is good. It just has too much cooling capacity for the car.

I'm not saying I dont like to drive. I actually really enjoy it. But if I had to pick one over the other I prefer the build. If I were rich I would probably want to spend all day working on hobby cars.

You should try watching the Red Bull Global Rally Cross. The heats are only 6 laps each and go really quick.

This. It drives me nuts some nights, I'll get this second wind all of a sudden as soon as I lay in bed and start thinking up potential projects (that I never have the funds for.) Lately I've found an interesting work around: since most of the thoughts have been Cherokee related, I divert my mind to sleep-inside overland builds and pretend I'm trying to sleep in my XJ

I have no interest in "supercars," except for the F40, which got my attention as a kid.

This. Although I might change it to "after the F40". no more analogue stuff, no 3rd pedal, not interested. Don't get me wrong, i think newer supercars are awesome, amazing even, i just don't really lust after them. I dont' want a poster of them, or a hotwheels car of them. I don't even use them in racing games.

F40 and XJ220 are only ones i think i would buy if i hit the lotto.

Guy that owns NJMP racetrack owns a F40 and actualy runs it on track at speed from time to time. That thing is sex, looks and sound.

Except the bigger rear spoiler he put on it. But if tracked it becomes function over form.

Same here.

Mostly because back then I loathed them for dumb reasons. The "it's not cool" reasons

F40 for me. Mainly because it's a "raw" car. All other supercars are really just jewelry. The F40 is the rare example where it's a homologation special in the sense that it is an absolutely awful street car. A good chunk of C&D's test was them marveling that Ferrari managed to emissions certify it.

My automotive not so secret guilty pleasure is and always will be late 90s - early 00s minitrucks.

I mean the wild graphics paint jobs, body dropped so far the engine comes through the hood, absolutely pointless minitrucks.

I'm a connoisseur of Mazda's pop up headlights of the 80's and 90's. The first and second gen RX-7s had perfectly shaped lids, while the Miata's were too tall and square.
