On creating something even more absolutely visually offensive than the Juke. I won't even hotlink a pic of it. If you are some kind of masochistic freak, find a toilet, and google "Murano Convertible." Judging by the look on my face, the people I passed on the hwy in one must've thought something died in my car.
Someone at my work has one and I parked next to it the other day. When I came out of work, my wrx had moved 3 spots away like you move away from the really ugly girl when you're out at a bar.
ok, the second part isn't true. But it was surely ugly.
What happened to the Nissan of the 90's!!!! I am a Nissan NUT, but only up to a certain year (ie, early 2000's, like 03 when the good Maximas ended). I will take my 95 Max over almost any current Nissan or Infiniti!

I have to go back to the 240Z or 510 to find a Nissan that interests me much at all. Never owned one - don't really see it in my future either.
^ totally agree.
though I actually like most Infiniti designs (inasmuch as they look like every other luxury car out there). The designers over at Nissan are apparently the ones that failed car design school, and got sent to the minor leagues to practice. And they still suck. The Altima is the only model that has consistently gotten better looking. The rest keep going downhill hard.
Hell, even the GT-R is ugly. Nobody notices because it's so awesome, but it's not an attractive car compared to other supercars, IMO.
No this is the worst looking thing Nissan/Infiniti sells.
Or this
Or this
Ok Nissan just hired a bunch of blind people to design.

I started a thread on this Murano last week. I thought someone hacked their Murano up!

The quest isn't that bad.......at least the beltline moves fairly flat......unlike the odyssey (iirc)
I dig the cube for what it is but i want to punch people who drive qx56s
I just looked it up. Who thought that was a good idea.

The Nissan offering has gone down since this guy left the company.
i think a cube with the juke drivetrain would be awesome though, regardless.
I dunno...370 seems legit...I'm just sayin
370 is legit compared to other current Nissans. But ugly compared to previous Z cars, IMO.

370z is not a good looking car, IMO. those STUPID boomerang lights piss me off. Nissans vans on the other hand, both the fullsize whateverthehell that is, and the Quest minivan, look pretty slick to me. I am guilty of liking really wonky Japanese vans, though.
The Quest is nice looking for a van. My in-laws have one and I find it to nice to ride in. It is very large though, almost like a full-size van.
This "the new Murano cabriolet is sure ugly" topic was just covered here...like less than 2 weeks ago. We get it, some folks think it's a crime that Nissan thinks outside the box, and the rest seem to think Nissan is building boring cars.
It's kind of hard to have it both ways without producing at least one or two "oddball" cars.
When I first saw one of these at the State Fair a couple of years ago I seem to remember that the rear end/belt line being almost at shoulder height. That sucker was huge & tall! it felt like a full sized American van with the top cut off.
One of the factory Nissan guys was there and I asked them if this was some kind of concept car and they told me it was the new Murano Convertible and had just begun production. He said their predictions were that this would be one of their most popular cars.
And integraguy, Nissan has had more than their fair share of "awkward" vehicles.

Boy, you nailed that. Saw the van on the road the other day and couldn't get over how disproportionate and slab sided it looked.
I had a '95 Maxima. Brilliant car for the money, but the styling was awful. The first I30's (before they were tarted up Maximas) [yes, I meant J30's, thanks!] were pretty cool, though. If Jaguar had done a MkII in the 90's it would have looked like that!

i30's were always tarted up Maximas.
I suspect you meant J30's which were rwd and shared a drivetrain with the 300zx of the era (but only in automatic.)
Glad to have one from the 90s when they looked good.
Idk I really love the last generation qx56/armada, guess I'm just a weirdo like that. Seeing as I drive an Infiniti I may be bias though.
I kinda always thought the 1st gen G coupe in white was the prettiest of the modern "Z Cars"
Oooh... more crapping on Nissan! Count me in!
The new NV cargo van looks like Brian Griffin from Family Guy.
And the J30 is what I call the Infiniti Frumpback. Man, that is one ugly car.
As I've said in many other Nissan-bashing threads, I used to really like their cars. They were like a Japanese BMW. I owned a 89 Maxima SE (GREAT car!) and my parents still have a 96 Maxima. I used to look forward to the day when I could buy something they made that was really cool, but that never happened. There's nothing in their current lineup I would remotely want, except maybe a Pro-4X Xterra or Frontier.
Infiniti was doing well for a while, but lately, they have been slipping into the "let's design a bunch of rolling suppositories" trap. Not cool. At least the CVT's haven't taken over the lineup yet.
And the fact that Nissan's slogan is "Shift" is the dumbest thing ever. They have CVT's in everything that don't "Shift" at all!!!!!!
