A little side note in the history books that I didnt want to go unnoticed.
4 or 5 years ago I came up with the tragically stupid idea of the "Trifecta of Crap" Completeing the BABE rally, GRM and Lemons all in one year with the same car. I put the challenge out there that I would buy a 10 year subscription to GRM for the first team to go through with it.
After waiting so many years our team said to heck with it and did it ourselves this year but hot on our heels was Team Fugawi. I met Gary last year on BABE and told him of the challenge and he took it up wholeheartedly. We only beat him to the finish by the sheer logistics of our chosen Lemons race coming before his. Gary's challenge may have been tougher than our own in that he started from California to head to NYC for the start of BABE and has driven his car all over the country to make these events. I only give him a may have been tougher because he was in an MR2 not a Wartburg wink
Great Job Gary and team. I dont need to tell you what an accomplishment it is to complete the Trifecta but I hope some of the others here will reflect upon what you have accomplished and think about the planning, insanity and sheer stupidity it takes to drive your $500 Lemons car 3000+ miles on the street before hitting a track for Lemons or going through the GRM challenge.
