I've kind of lost interest in my Trans Am, it's not the greatest autox/road race/hpde whatever car. Good for a strait line and somewhat decent handling. I love my Si and have been thinking about getting another 4 door to make a dedicated track car. What does the GRM nation think? Only thing I really wanna do to the T/A is an LS376/480....

What Maroon said!! Plus every man should have a V8 in the stable. What year trans am is it? There are suspension and chassis parts for literally every year of firebird trans am. I'm currently building a 1979 firebird track car. With the 'pro-touring" movement being so big there is almost no end to what can be done to these cars. Besides the civic is so over done. If you're going for a dedicated track/ autox car get something more fun and with RWD. You already have a civic.

I shouldn't be asking, but how many miles and how much are you thinking of asking for it?

A buddy of mine just got an FRC Vette, and the idea of nearly 30 mpg on the Interstate with a huge V8 is very appealing again.

In reply to DirtyBird222:

If you're tired of it after all that then I agree it may be time for a change. I still suggest you get something other than what you already have. How about an ls converted something or other? I considered an fc with an ls for a long while. Under 3000 lbs with an ls has to be awesome!!

It is to bad FD's are still commanding a premium. Even with bad motors they are way over challenge money.

I'll start the bidding off at $1200 and a case of PBR!!!

it's getting close to 109k, it maybe has 3k miles since the cam install. And I really don't know how to price it. I know modifications don't add much to a cars value, but it's def worth more than a KBB or NADA value. It's a tough decision, maybe I'll let it brew for a while. Plus I want something I can go racing with every weekend and that I can trust!

It's definitely worth more than KBB/whatever.

I'll up my bid to $1200, my 944, a case of Corona, and I'll even throw in the gokart!

@DirtyBird222

What tires do you run?

Have you tried to swap the wheels front to back for autox. Front heavy car and 'narrow' front wheels at autox should mean a ton-o-push... Stock rear bar? Torque arm? Watts Link? LSD?

Running all the camber/caster you can get? It kinda seems like you're already building it for more of a straight line car based on the mods.

Get the Si and sell the TA - email me first though

It's like I tell friends when they ask for my advice, do what you want, because that's what you're gonna do that anyway.

All that Strano stuff is building it for straight line? Camber is at -2.0, Toe is zeroed out, Caster is around 3.0. Running Hankook RS2s because they came with the wheels. 315/30/18 in rear, 265/35/18 up front. It has a Torque arm relocation kit, An adjustable panhard, factory posi, stock rear bar, adjustable lower control arms, adjustable upper and lower front control arms, huge front sway bar (bc that's what straight line guys do) :)

Since when is 265 a narrow tire? Wow!

A 265 is narrow when ESP autox competitors are running 315 and 335s on 11” to 12” wide wheels on the front of the car.

You’ve got great mods on the car and good camber (caster seems low) just no LSD.

Are you over on frrax.com? Maybe they can help diagnose any possible issues you’re having.

Anyway – That’s a BEAUTIFUL car!!!

i am on frrax, i set the lower caster based off the theory that a high degree of caster gives you great high speed stability while a lower degree of caster gives you great turn in at lower speeds and instability at higher speeds.

LSD or another rear end is just another expense right now that I don't really think is necessary. The 265 will stay until the tires are worn out lol.

The car isn't the problem, it's the fact I've found another car that is just as much fun if not "funner" with a fraction of the power. Don't get me wrong, I love my V8s, I love my Firebirds, I just want something I'll enjoy RACING not just driving.
