I would like to pull the trigger on a set of 205/50-16 Continental ExtremeContact DW tires but there don't seem to be any in th US right now.
Any suggestions on alternatives with similar performance and price (~$100/tire).
Oh, and they come in a 205/50-16.
Yokohama S.drive if you're not going to compete on the tires. Dunlop Direzza ZII Star Spec if you're planning on racing on them.
Most of the best UHP summers don't come in 16" sizes. BFGoodrich g-Force Sport COMP-2 much noiser and don't ride as smoothly as the DW, but should last longer. Bridgestone Potenza RE760 Sport might be the best alternative. Both have a $70 rebate. GT Radial Champiro UHP1s would be another one to try if you want more dry traction, but you would have to pick a slightly different size like 195/55R16 (they run wide.)
I went with the S Drives; thanks for the input.

Hi Procainestart,
Sorry to hijack your thread but I'm a new member and cannot yet send a PM.
I am writing to you because I found a post of yours regarding your 89 Saab 5-speed having difficulty shifting into first from a complete stop. Problem worse when warm. I have the exact same thing happening on my 1990 (same trans). Did you ever figure out what it was? Would greatly appreciate any info you could offer.
Thanks!
