Fox quit the F1 broadcast at the end of the race. The race had already run about 2 hrs overtime.
perhaps the Continental race will be replayed.

We all have our favorites.
For those who endured 4hrs of FOX's broadcast of AN EPIC FORMULA ONE RACE , interrupting the Conti race was a nice gesture.
Sorry for your pain..........

it was a pretty good race ... was hoping Shumi could hold on for a podium ... DRS sorta leaves the lead car defenseless
Conti replay 2-4 early monday
must have been a lot of wrecks to go over 2hrs ???? dont know if thats epic or not. Ooops i just got my head out of my butt and saw that it rained them out. Oh well The 2 1/2hr conti race got cut down to 2 hrs plus commercials and the F1 interruption of 25min . I guess thats fair in Speeds mind.
While I really like Continental tire challenge, I immagine there are exponentially more F1 fans than there are CTC fans. It sucks that they cut in, but it is a business and they have to do whatever is most profitable.

IIRC we have a couple of folk on here that are or have been in the television business...+ we have several attorneys ..so maybe someone can answer
how does a network (in this case Fox) decide which contract takes precedence ? I'm guessing here, but Fox probably had contractual requirements that caused them to have to show the podium/after race celebrations ... the question is why would that take precedence over the contractual agreement to show the Conti race ?
I would guess that F1 REQUIRES that everything be shown live, while Continental tire doesn't mind if it is tape delayed (obviously, because the Watkins race was last weekend.)

Adding insult to injury. Fox dumped coverage of the F1 event to show a rerun of the show "Bones". Hardly worth changing coverage for. Way to screw up, FOX. They stay with the 2 hr rain delay, but bail out as soon as they can for no good reason. Can't understand why they make the dumb decisions they do.

Much of Sunday afternoon programming is relinquished to local outlets and local advertisers. If network broadcasts run long, the locals lose on revenue streams.
In many ways, I was pleasantly surprised that FOX actually committed that much time to a relatively unsubscribed sporting event.
our local Fox channel dumped it for the local news. As if anything newsworthy happened.
It caught me off gaurd, turned it on, left the room for a moment to get a drink and came back to see highlights from the F1 race.. Had to rewhind it a little to see what had happened.. Wish I knew it was on a 2 hour delay - had set it up to record it when i wasn't home and missed the last bit.
Just got through watching it, no spoilers for those that haven't, but man was that a sensational race all around.
A certain driver does need a stern talking to though.
After that EPIC F1 RACE, very glad Fox just didn't dump coverage, but continued on Speed. The post race review and driver interviews were worth it.
