Trying to see if an mgb would make a good candidate for the challenge.

The rules say road worthy. Here in Ontario, as long as the wipers work, I can get by with a wind deflector for a windshield. Would this fly for the contest?

Also, for the drag races, is a roll cage of some sort required? Rules state arm restraints, but nothing about cages until the 11 second bracket is reached.

It would need some sort of windshield. You can read that literally.

As far as cages, open cars need bars if they're under 13.99, IIRC.

Per, my problem is that I am reading it literaly and need a literal interpretation of what is a "wind shield" (two words)Does a SCCA type wind deflector count? NHRA would not have much experience with such a beast. I do have a real windshield, but I like the looks of the deflectors.

I will promise not to go faster than 14.00. It IS after all an MG!

"some sort of wind shield." there's been at least one open car with something that looked about the size of a motorcycle face shield as a "wind shield", so i'd suggest that whatever's acceptable in the most radical SCCA autocross class would be enough.

I believe the NHRA rollbar rule is 13.49 for open cars, due to the abundance of stock convertibles available these days that will run sub-14's in the quarter.

Thanks. Will proceed according to the autocross model.
