Cool find, indeed. I'm hoping to pick this up at auction Saturday for well under challenge money:
In reply to Cotton:
It's got a rebuilt Cat 3208 () in it, and it runs. Not my favorite engine, but not too bad. I'm hoping to get it cheap, but we'll see.
Hope it works out. That is one of my all-time favorite trucks, at least aesthetically speaking, since looking at 'em is the extent of my experience.

I was shocked to learn that Ford used the same basic cab from 1963 - 1990.

I think they actually started with that design in 1957.

That's much better than the one I looked at with a 351 in it! I really wanted to buy it, but the tires were so bad I was afraid to drive on them and my trailer wouldn't handle the weight. I should have bought it anyway and had it towed home...I still regret not getting it.

305 V6 are great motor just don't rev it over 4500 rpm they are low rpm high torque motors. Make sure to run the block numbers as there is A-E sub models and some parts may look identical but are diffrent. IE: the water pumps. wrong sub model it my overheat.

My bad, but it was actually the 1990 part that blew me away.

That's awesome! I feel much better about my odds of
A) Eventually finding one, and
B) Finding one new enough that it won't need swapping onto a newer chassis to work reasonably well!
