My son and I were driving to a show in Detroit yesterday and, within the space of 20 minutes, saw 3 C8's (each a different color). I'm assuming these were "mules" and not for sale to the public. Here are some thoughts from what we saw, based on color only:
Elkhart Lake Blue Metallic (Chevy came up with these names, not me):
Let's start with the best one we saw. This is a great color, really comes alive in the sunlight. If I were in the C8 market, this would be my choice.
Zeus Bronze Metallic:
If your goal is to be invisible (like 2005 tan Camry invisible) this is your color. Of course, if your goal is to be invisible, why are you buying a Vette?
Accelerate Yellow:
This one should be called "safety vest yellow". Can't really stare at it without burning your retinas. It's pretty much the opposite of Zeus Bronze. If you're buying a car to get noticed, this is your color. You may, however, have to flat black the hood so it doesn't blind you.

They must be doing events. Cleetus Mcfarland just posted his experience in Las Vegas.
I wish I could stretch the budget and buy a base model Elkhart Lake blue version.
I could if the wife stopped buying essential oils and barley green powder.
In reply to Datsun310Guy :
Better idea, get her to sell essential oils to all of her family/friends for major PROFITS and then buy z06 C8 with many millions!
She could work for me and the gal above me in the pyramid,er,triangle. No one has ever lost money in this scheme, and many self made millionaires. Just ask the 6 interactive online testimonials on our website!!
It's 40 degrees and sunny for the first times in months. Everyone wants to play with their toys for a minute.
In reply to RossD :
Not necessarily events, lots of pre-production vehicles end up driving around the Detroit area. C8s are being driven regardless of the weather right now to rack up some miles.

I like the yellow a lot. The other two colors will blend in with every other deep, metallic, boring hue on the road today.
In reply to buzzboy :
Have you seen the yellow in person? It looks a LOT more muted on the color chart than on the car. If you are looking for "stands out in a crowd", this is it. I'm not kidding when I called it "safety vest yellow."
I finally got to see the hardtop and convertible last weekend at the Chicago auto show. I dig the looks, but the Alfa 4c Spyder really caught my eyes in a way I didn't anticipate.
YouTubers mostly haven't had a chance at the C8, but there are quite a few in my feed the last couple of days.
Funny enough I saw my first C8 on the road today. Spotted it about a quarter mile back and initially called it a Lamborghini. Corrected myself a sec later. I think the Sebring orange threw me off but looked exactly like this one.

Reminds me of the days of Chrysler in the 60s - colours like Panther Pink, Sublime, Go Mango, and Statutory Grape (I didn't make up the last one, that's what we used to call what the factory named Plum Crazy).
Vis a vis the Corvettes pictured, I rather like that understated bronze.

Those wheels are nasty looking, though. They look like Vatozone wheel covers for a 1992 Tempo.
