So you bought this right? As has been said already, it is a good deal, I paid $750 for mine and it was a solid starting point. I have flipped two hard tops so far, they are pretty easy to sell and get 75% of your investment back. If you do the work, they are easy to do, parts are inexpensive but you will be upside down if you have to pay someone else for the work. These cars are basic 50's-60's technology so easy to work on. But if you go down the rabbit hole of doing an engine swap, check out my build thread https://grassrootsmotorsports.com/forum/build-projects-and-project-cars/rat-rod-1972-mk4-triumph-spitfire-project/132550/page1/ as you do end up having to do the entire drivetrain to do it properly. Spitfires were and still are a great handling car that is unlike anything modern. Because they all weigh less than 1,800 pounds, they are fun to drive, but slow in stock form. Let us all know how it works out!

I’m still on the fence and also awaiting pics from the seller. I did tell my father in law about it and he’s super interested. May work out that I get to be involved in the project but not spend any of my own money.

This.

I guarantee that if you jump out of an airplane, you will figure out the ripcord. So go for it and stop waffling.
