I'm just curious if any of you guys have seen or done any unique upholstery to your door cards, or any other part of your interior.
The e30's cloth door card is starting to separate into threads at the handle on the driver's side. I've been considering replacing the cloth with something else.
This is an idea I came up with. (Thompson Camel tartan, please refrain from the Burberry comments, yes I know)
I like the look. would be sweet if you could redo the headliner like that too!
I've been pondering quilted fabric for the Miata. I'd have to do the transmission tunnel to match though.
This is quilted vinyl hotlinked for your pleasure:
I'm thinking either quilted fake suede or pillowtop leather for my MX6. The ENTIRE interior. Even the headliner and dash pad.
Pierre Cardin Javelin has a sweet interior:
Door cards are a bit plain though.
I'm a big fan of the GTO's 2-tone:
The Cosmos Purple is more under-stated:
The Porsche 931 Pascha is the coolest one though, I'd love this interior in my 944:
The plaid gets a little weird...
Taiden, I'm having flashbacks to the '70s when upholstery like your example was widespread and used by pretty much every Detroit (and some foreign car) manufacturers.
It might not look as classy, but perhaps cordoroy, in the same or an almost contrasting color?
That blue GTO interior is AWESOME.
Stock on some VW Westfalias!

I did the interior on my Elky:
Blue leatherette and tweed.
More pics in my profile.
I love the Martini and Rossi 924's interior
Here's what it looks like now
There was a VW Beetle in my dorm parking lot with a Mickey Mouse interior.

As someone who grew up in cars with aluminum skinned doors I've got to say "Hell No!" It looks great but it is the noisiest thing I have ever experienced. If you add enough dynamat to quiet it down you lose the weight savings so why bother.
I always end up making my own.

that is some damn good work with a bead roller.
Damn, ditchdigger. That's impressive!

I had a neighbor with a blue GTO. It was an awesome car, awesome paint color, but the blue interior was a bit over the top imo...it suited my neighbor lol
I've never seen the purple interior..I kind of dig it
My mustang has the pimp red leather with red vinyl insets in the door. It was one of my must have options when I went looking.
I really like the camel plaid. Do it soon!

Houndstooth check in oxblood would look killer on the E30 door cards against the solid beige of the door pulls and armrests. Just a subtle pop of color/texture to break up the monotone. Like so:
(This ain't exactly oxblood, which is a little more light tan and maroon together, but you get the idea.)
Which do you guys like better, on the diagonal, or on the horizontal?

These are the tightest pair of nike's I've ever seen in my life. And I spend a lot of time looking at nike's.

Yeah, I'm not into sneakers and those are pretty rockin'. Came across them randomly while looking for fabric samples for you.
