Does anyone have a good educated guess about whether a tuba is likely to fit in the hatch of the current CTS wagon with the rear seats up?

My wife wants me to go drive one. V of course, but it's only a go if my son's tuba will fit. My life is weird.
Classic:
Dimensions: 47.8 x 28.2 x 28.7 inches
Sousaphone:
Dimensions: 34 x 20 x 30 inches.
Both would fit I bet
Yes dear, the Tuba fits................one way or another.............
Or
Do I get a cookie? It has to fit easier than in the Corvette wagon
Tuba, not a Sousaphone. You think I'm some sort of band noob or something?
Hmmmmm......if there's a reasonable chance it will fit then maybe I should drag it down there and check this weekend.

If you put it in the back it could be an unsafe projectile in the event of an accident Or Do I get a cookie? It has to fit easier than in the Corvette wagon

Please post pictures of this! We REALLY want to see how car shopping is done properly.
I rounded up to the approximate size of tuba in case based on bgkast's dimensions and got about 28 Ft3 Cadillac says it's cargo volume is 58 Ft3 so you should be fine. http://www.cadillac.com/cts-v-luxury-wagon/features-specs/dimensions.html
Regardless I want to see pictures of you at the Caddy dealer test fitting a tuba into a CTS-V Wagon.
I'd be shocked if it didn't.
The case is gonna matter. Hard case or gig bag?
You're gonna have to try it. But make sure you come up with a really good story before reporting back here.
So was this tuba a consideration when the Vette was on the table? Or is this some random new requirement?

Interesting, it wouldn't fit in the 2 with the seats up. I tried every way under the sun and couldn't make it happen. Hard case as issued by the school.
Tuba fitting isn't a hard and fast requirement, but if it did then I could drive the kids to school in it every morning and that would make me want it more. The Aerowagon was special and didn't need to meet any requirements other than being awesome. And actually being built.
