The R&P kit I installed in my 1969 Cougar works great but I’m less than impressed with the Teflon lined braided stainless steel flex hoses for high pressure and return lines. They are a challenge to route effectively and I want to replace them with hardlines with some short flex sections. I used cunifer stuff for some brake hardline replacement and it works really well. I’m looking at the larger diameter stuff for the PS lines which are AN-6 or 3/8”. Pump pressure looks to be within safe range for cunifer and I have bender and flaring tools. Any reason to not use it for this application? I know steel is used in industrial hydraulic applications so I can go that route. I don’t think my flaring tool will like stainless tubing though it appears McMaster-Carr has an annealed grade with good burst strength.
Planned routing is still TBD but may go in to front wheel well before returning to engine bay. The car has a nice little lip close to brake hardlines and two holes in the inner wheel well for penetrations or bulkhead fittings.
