I first saw flaps on a VW rabbit back in 1980 on my Grandmother's GTI. I thought it was a cool idea then, and definitely something that stuck with me as a cool idea now (pun not really intended)

Yup, that's it. The ones on the BMW are plastic with a hinge, but rubber is a great choice. You can buy flaps from Spal. It's what we use on our shrouds.

Hmm.....

I need to add a shroud to the mechanical fan in the elky. The reproductions have no flaps. Wonder if these will work similar in this application.
