I've been thinking recently that the CVT in SWMBO's Fit makes me consider taking it to the strip & bracket racing with it.  It would be boringly slow, but I think once I learned to time the light you could turn really consistent times with it. She'd kill be before she let me do that though.

The only thing I keep thinking of for trying oem cvts for motorsports use is monitoring trans temps. It seems to be the Achilles heel, I wonder if you can do enough with trans coolers to control the situation.  Well at least for road course stuff.

Drag? Should be fine I would think. Really consistent, great for brackets.

This CVT seems to work well in motorsports. Tough to convince her it is a daily though.

Weird. I started this thread but don't see my original post. Likely due to crappy internet.

Anyway, I just wanted to get folks opinion regarding CVTs (specifically Honda's) for track events. I have an Accord that I thought might be fun at a PDX or TnA. Just a few short sessions for fun. I wouldn't thrash it as it's my DD.  Plus I have dedicated cars to thrash!

Thanks.
