yeah , that would just make it full time locked not full time awd

a L33 5.3 LSX with 6.0L heads , bee-hive z06 springs (cheap) and a cam will make 500hp all day long (see Hotrod for the buildup)
don't need a turbo , even a cam swap with springs will put a 5.3L in the 400hp area with ease
AutoXR, I believe you that it's somewhere in HR, but where? I got lost in search hell and their bot doesn't even think it knows what "L33" means. Help?
I still think my idea is the best.
Bravada, Lt1 / LS1 swap, season to taste. DONE.
Id put a higher stall converter in while the motor's out to take better advantage of AWD from a stop.
How much is a ratty sy/ty? If you get a real one it will be worth something in the long run and they still look badass after all these years.
Or even better buy one with a blown motor. I am pretty sure it is easy to sway in a v8 and turbo that.
On a side note it is crazy that no one makes a body kit to make a s10 look like a syclone. All I found with a brief search is a front bumper. You could buy a ratty sy/ty sell the factory body kit to recoup a portion of the purchase price and have fast sleeper. That may be cheaper in the long run.
does anyone know what a truggy is? well if you do , how legal would a truck without the bed and front end body work , made to have fenders covering the wheels like a lotus (or locost) ,working lights, leave the cab stock with buckets and harnesses(maybe an extended cab to have room for a harness bar and some sotage room , lowered , debating: awd+v6+turbo+auto VS v8+rwd+manual ..... i have been going nuts thinking this would be cool to drive around....change the wheel / tire combo and have fun offroad toy as well.... could you make a leaf suspesion handle well all around?

I have thought this through many many times:
Combine this:
Marks adapter 4l80 to rover transfer case
With upgraded diffs front and rear and center to handle and put down all that newfound power. After the engine/trans/diff swap you modify the suspension to include a dual spring setup with really soft tall springs on top of really stiff short springs so you get the low ride height AND extreme droop. Then add in a Range Rover air spring setup with manual control of the ride height. You can then have in the weeds on road performance or in the clouds soft rock crawling setup with the push of a few buttons. You would probably get about 50% better mpg and improved reliability to boot.
