My acquaintance traveled to Dallas (Galleria area) from LA for a daughter sporting event. All I know is it's a Suburban with a P0306 #6 misfire code. I think he swapped plug, coil and wire and the code appeared on #6 again. Trying to confirm all of that. If you are in the area and can help or recommend a shop for him tomorrow I would be appreciative.

5.3 with cylinder deactivation?  Might have lost a lifter.

Find out if it has the variable displacement garbage in it. If so, good chance he's got a dead cylinder...

I'm in Santa Fe or I'd try to help out.

I'd unplug the injector and drive it home. It'll be annoying, but oh well. That is, unless he has the time and money to sit and wait for someone else to fix it, in which case you can get a Chevy fixed in any major city anyway.

Nice job, guys.  Collapsed lifter on #6.  2 days and $2400 for repair.
