I've been looking for a hardtop for my 94, and found this one
Top came off, sfw
Problem 1. It's 9 hours away
Problem 2. Obviously damaged
Good news is I'm going to that area of the state this weekend and could make a 2 hour detour to pick it up. I don't care about cosmetics at all, I'm trying to make my car more long haul commute worthy. As long as it seals well and reduces noise is be happy.
What are the chances this thing will work for me? What should I look for it be worried about?
Any idea how much they are selling for? I would chance it for $100 or less probably, anything over that it isn't worth the hassle.
The rear latch that broke off, i'd be worried about.
I doubt this particular top would reduce noise much. This looks like a recipe for huge amounts of wind noise.
It's fiberglass, right? Definitly fixable.
IIRC the rear latches can't (easily) be reattached once they've broken off. I'd give it a miss.
I have a hardtop where one of the rear feet broke off. It held up fine on the highway with the side latches, front latches and one foot holding it on, and it was very very cheap.
I don't think it's feasible to replace a rear foot but I'd love to see evidence to the contrary because I still have most of the foot left. I thought maybe it would be possible to weld the chunks of foot back together again but that it would put too much heat into the hard top.
Of course, the difference is that my hardtop broke its foot off being mounted onto a car, and this one... broke it being a parasail. I bet this top has other problems.
