Got a call from my wife she blew out one of the snow tires on her 2010 Saab. Arrived with my inflater. no go. Had to change the tire 6 degrees out in my suit. Got it off, big bend in the back side. now need tire and rim. I decided to just replace all 4 and keep the other 3 as spares. fun times.

SWMBO's car had a slow leak on the right front the other day. Turned out to be a sidewall break, probably from a pothole. Could be my fault as well; at least the rim wasn't involved.

This winter has been horrific on the roads around here. MUCH worse than usual.

It's real bad here too. Now that the snow has melted a bit it is revealing a horror show. On some roads you can see clear back to the 1970s.

I'm going to drag out my camera phone and take a couple pics of the streets in the City of Scranton, PA.

I am sure I can podium in the "Worst pothole I personally saw" contest thread. The whole town looks like it was carpet bombed. If I lived in city limits I'd be up in arms... I'm in a 2500HD and I'm worried about damage. I can't imagine what that would do to a set of sexy BBS wheels.

Never seen potholes like what we have now in Indianapolis area. The city can't keep up, they've resorted to just putting cones in some of them.

Which... is fine. Except when they're in the middle of the road and the pothole is pretty much exactly as deep as the entire damn cone.

Let me tell you how much fun it was test driving Miatas last weekend.

I'm scared for hitting some of these berkeleyers in my lifted Cherokee.

Wooo Scranton! GPS, what town do you live by? I'm closer to wilkes-barre and their roads stink too , but I've heard scrantons are worse. I wouldn't want to be driving around with low profile tires anytime soon at either city tho

I'm out in the sticks north west of Clarks Summit - are you right in the fringe of W-B or near-by?

The Town of Mt Pleasant replace a wheel and tire on my 626 many years ago. If a pothole has been reported and no attempt has been made to repair it or divert traffic around it, damages are on the city.

I'm about 5min from Falls where 92 and 29 meet at the river so... not too far from Pittston myself. Which... is also like a minefield that someone already set off.

That's hilarious. You MIGHT win a claim if it happened on a state road up here, beyond that, you're screwed.

No crap! We're practically neighbors! I go on rt 92 everytime I go to see my parents up north of tunkhannock. Small world, I knew you were somewhat close but I had no idea that close. And yes back on topic potholes. I'm glad I drive a work van and don't have to worry about bent rims, blown out tires and all of that fun stuff

Went in to get my tires flipped and an alignment today and found out my passenger upper control arm ball joint was toast. Less than 2 years old, and i JUST replaced the driver side in November. These roads are hell on suspension systems. Gotta reschedule my alignment now, but at least i got the tires flipped and steering is much better.

Seems like every pot hole they fill just gets dug up and worse after a week or two because of the snow/freeze/thaw/plows.

even down here in South Jersey our roads have gone to hell. The only one that is in decent shape was the only they just spent 2 years digging up and replacing.. and even that had a couple

There is a giant pothole near the firehouse that's so deep that I think the town is waiting for a Fiat to fall into it and then just pave over it.

I've been selling the hell out of tires for blow outs. The roads are always bad in Michigan, but this year takes it to a "hole" new level.

Hole-y cow that's a bad one....

I've been lucky, but daughter had to get a new rim and tire while the son is working on his busted ball joint today...

An expensive winter, but some are making a few bucks off of it I guess.

Is it the frost heaves or the combination of ice and salt that makes the roads deteriorate so bad?

We don't see much in the way of potholes until a road is 10+ years old. Are the roads just old or do they fail faster up there.

Just for the laughs.

I've resorted to driving with my passenger tires in the dirt on the side of the road in the worst sections in my F150. I'd rather catch a nail than blow a shock or kill a sidewall.

Had a good one tonight, I was driving down a windy two lane road, almost had someone hit me head on bc I assume they didn't want to hit the torn up road and decided to drive in my lane coming around a corner. C'mon people

One of the streets by my office has totally gone to pot this winter. I noticed today the city put up a sign that says, "this street will be repaved in 2014." Never seen that before.

In reply to nepa03focus: People near me do that anytime there are no lines on the road or they are covered with snow, someday I have to make a video of driving in England on NY state roads.

All these potholes makes me glad I searched high and low for extra 15" rims for my Mustang in stead of going with bigger wheels.

I am not allowed to drive the Fiat until spring. After I bent the second wheel and lost another hubcap The Wife took away my key.
