Daytona 500

For the first time ever, I'll be watching it live--making the trip allllll the way across town in order to go. Tonight we're doing the truck race as well. Anyone else going?

We’ll be there for the big race on Sunday. 

Shoutout to Kennington in the blue 99 Lordco car. Local guy and a little local family owned autoparts company that has grown over the years.

My friend is the person live tweeting Chase Elliott's weekend for the NAPA Racing Twitter account (https://twitter.com/NAPARacing). He watched the race last night from the top of the pit box and was hanging out on top of the car hauler earlier. I'm slightly jealous.

Gonna miss it for the first time in forever because I'll be on an airplane. 

On the topic, Fox Sports 1 had a really good doc last night about the rivalry between Earnhardt and Gordon. The mid-90s is when I was really into NASCAR, so it was a nice trip down memory lane. They even had Danny Ric on it!

Which race was it where the fans threw tons of trash onto Gordo’s car after he broke one of Sr’s records? He had his car nose up against the wall doing a burnout and cups, bottles etc were splashing off the roof and hood of his car. 

Is the race live streamed for free on the net ?

I do not have TV service here :(

I should go once, at least.

For me, it's just a guaranteed day off, since our parking lot is taken over by race parking.

It sure could have happened with Dale, but the most memorable was at Talledega, when Junior nation rained E36 M3 on him for a win over Dale Jr.

Tried to watch the last 50 laps. Gave up when the big one happened with 10 to go. 

Collected one of our cars in that dang it.

I am really hoping Preece can do something now that he’s among what’s left of the field.  The announcers seem relieved they don’t have to say DiBenedetto any longer today.

I was thinking that it had made a nice change from last year’s demo derby when there were about 15 laps to go.

Chase Elliott managed to make it through the last one, then Bowyer forgot he had a rear bumper, pit maneuvered himself, and rode Elliott's front bumper down the track.

Same here but I was finishing up at the laundromat and wasn't going to stay. Who won? 

That was some serious carnage and an amazing spark show during the Big One.

It's good to hear Gordon in the announcer booth.
