I just got back from a day at Daytona speedway, as they're holding practice for the Rolex 24 weekend. They're not going to set any records for field size, but the quality is good--and lots of new cars. New additions to the Continental Tire Challenge (formerly Koni Challenge) include BimmerWorld's BMWs, new BMW M3s for Fall-Line, the Kias, SpeedSource-built Mazdaspeed3s and a truckload of Camaros. In Rolex, there's the new Camaro--way cool--plus new Mazdas for SpeedSource. TRG's five-car effort came together, too.
TheRaceSite.com has photos, grand-am.com has scoring sheets. More tomorrow. Hopefully less sleet/ice pellets tomorrow, too.
They aren't making any changes to the Koni Challenge format or cars are they? Please say NO. I LOVE Koni Challenge!
I was at the race last year at VIR where the Camaro debuted in the Koni Series. It was the only one, raced by Stevenson Motorsports. Didn't finish the race, but it was cool seeing the car take its first race lap.

Continental Tires is now the title sponsor, but the tires are more or less rebadged Hoosiers, I understand. I didn't see or hear of any other major changes to the series, but there's some new entries for 2010.
Thanks for the Daytona Guide in the Feb issue. We're going to try a few of the restaurants listed for sure.
Also - I really like Tommy's photos - well done!
We're flying down on Jan. 27th - can't wait.

If you only try one try The Brickyard. It's seriously the best burger I've ever had. It's way to cool that it's only five minutes from our office.
