Trying to install the Trackspeed Engineering Fuel Pump Rewire kit... of course, it is early (west coast asleep) and Sunday (no one working today anyways). I have instructions that tell me to remove an orange clip (assuming the only orange thing, which is rubber). There were also two clear plastic pieces that came off the connector. Then I have a picture that shows small plastic clips to press against, but my connector doesn’t seem to have these. I have attached a picture of what came off the connector and the connector itself. Anyone know the magic place to press so that I can de-pin?
I have exactly the same problem. Did you figure this one out? I'd prefer to actually de-pin the connector properly, rather than resort to splicing or replacing that connector (I don't want to be crimping in that terribly small space)

The metal terminal has a tab that locks it into the connector body. A thin sliver of metal-I use feeler gauge stock trimmed to fit-slid down over that tab will allow the terminal to be withdrawn from the connector. There should be some diagrams or photos (or even a bespoke tool) to help you if you search.
I've made tools before out of hard wood nails and a grinder. You need to stick the tool down the side I've marked in red to depress pin that holds it in place.
The other side pins into the sides I've marked in blue, so make sure you don't mess with that side, as you can mess up the connection if you distort that.
If it were me, I'd do the in-tank connector- as there is another one in there. At least there was on my '99. On my car, the in-tank connector is just two pins- and pretty easy to take apart.
(I wish I knew where to find more of those specific pins, though)

You can buy the appropriate pins and took to crimp them online. This makes the job brainless and helps you keep your old fuel pump intact.
I got it with a very small flathead screwdriver. The kit instructions were clearly for a different style of plug. The pin came out and I was able to hook up the override relay, no issues. Thanks!
