Replacing a muffler strap does not need to be that difficult. Thank you.
Hey, at least you can drive to Spring Hill. When I feel like thowing a tool through someone's drafting table, I realize I'd have to fly to Wolfsburg.

Kevin, at the risk of a thread hijack (and a greater risk of mistaking the SC1 in your name meaning you've got one), I gotta ask..is anyone making performance parts for those cars? I was an SCCA Corner Worker back when Rosenblum ran them in the IMSA RS series. It always seemed the car had a lot of potential, but he had to do his own development.
I had a girlfriend back then that had one, I always thought it was a cool little car.
Yep. Production of the Chevy Traverse is moving from Tenessee to Lansing. Haven't been any Saturns produced in Springhill for quite some time, I think.
Yea, I know they no longer work there, but it made me feel better for a minute.
It wasn't that bad of a job, just irritating. I had some problems getting the old strap off, so I tried to unbolt the hanger that's bolted to the car (three bolts), which is much fun, because of rust and how inaccessible the bolts are. Eventually the old strap came apart, but now the new one is a VERY tight fit, and I need some C-clamps or something to pull the two halves together so I can bolt it together.

Zilch
I meant that it's sad that the plant that was built especially for Saturn is now (or soon will be) empty. It was supposed to be the model of the new GM, changing the way they do business. Not.

Threadjack!!!!
Yeah, I've got a few Saturns. One less now that my wife has a MINI. (for that story: http://kevscatharsis.blogspot.com/2009/09/b-muffler-and-auto-repair-and-imports.html)
Back in the mid to late '90's, and into the early part of the '00s, there were were several places making parts, but since the car has been out of production for 7 years, parts are getting harder to find. I've seen some used stuff on eBay, but not a whole lot.
And I've heard stories about the Rosenblum era...
