Did they specifically say that the injector physically broke? The term "dropped injector" usually means it stopped working, not that it actually dropped into the cylinder, although that can happen.

I'm guessing that by 3216 you actually mean 3126. The 3126 isn't wet sleeved, so if there's too much cylinder damage to bore / hone to fix it, you'd have to press in a sleeve. And if the damage is bad enough, it might just be a case of the block being scrap.
It's definitely worth digging in to find out how bad it is though. If the pieces were small, it's possible that the damage is minimal.
