Yep, exactly. Why test-fit with something that uses expensive bits and expensive stock when I can hit "print" and have a prototype made overnight with $2 of plastic.

Quick update here: A running, working, ready to make parts Bridgeport brand full-size CNC mill popped up on Marketplace this afternoon in Asheville, a few miles from a buddy's shop. The asking price? Just $900. I asked him to take a look and to buy it on the spot if it was at all as described.

I'm not holding my breath, as that's a deal that's probably too good to be true, but if it happens I'll start a build thread. laugh

I'd bet a dollar that I've seen the ad already.  Been looking at a fairly wide range of locations for a good deal.

As I feared, the CNC mill sold before I could get it. I messaged the seller 23 minutes after it was posted. Oh well, there will also be a next time.
