I've successfully involved SWMBO in driving autocross and live in fear (not really fear - just the bragging!) that some day she'll be faster than me, but I could live with that. (Right now I've got an eroding 2 second lead.) So I'm now thinking about how to combine driving to new places, Autocrossing, and Bed and Breakfasts to make this a happy marriage multiplier. Problem is the autocross arrive times would typically interfere with the typical B&B breakfast times. Nonetheless I'm going to work to make this happen this year.
I can't be the first guy who's thought of this....Looking for the wise hive minds to share some ideas or lessons learned from their "Destination Autocross" adventures....Any help? Thanks!
We (the wife and i) have never accomplished a b&b as described, but we done some travel and overnights for autocross that were a lot of fun for both of us. We think you're on to something here.
Well, one possible first step would be listing your house on Airbnb with specific openings on local autocross weekends and specific wording in the ads that that is what you are catering to.
Maybe search Airbnb to see if anyone else has done the same?
Sounds like you need to make it a 2 day event. Friday you travel to your destination, wake up in the B&B for a nice relaxed breakfast, enjoy the day with sightseeing and a nice dinner, wake up Sunday early and get on down to the venue for a day of dodging cones, head home happy and tired Sunday afternoon.
