I am getting ready to install some nice new 62.5mm Venolia pistons into an Abarth 750 block and they shipped with Deves rings.

Anyone have any tips for me? Yes I have read this. This is also what venolia told me to do when I called them

http://www.deves.com/oilring_inst.html

My problem seems to be that the two rails and oil ring do not compress the expander ring at all so they just fall out of alignment before I can even put the piston in the ring compressor.

This is pretty annoying.

No joke: Vaseline. It glues the pieces together and works best in cool temperatures. Whatever you do, don't cut the expander down!

Looks like I got it.

And now it looks like the other ring grooves are 1.5mm and Venolia sent 1.75mm rings
