Diagnose my ailing Sidekick...

Sounds like a stuck lifter to me, fwiw...

Well, the stuck lifter turns out to be correct. So now that we've got the timing worked out the shop wants $2500 to replace the lifters. Any other suggestions? Find a new shop?

$2500, I guess that is why I do all my own repairs.
