We got a lot of rain around Lansing. There were a few inches across the roadway and I hesitantly followed the crowd across the stream. Immediately my trans light came on and went into limp mode, which is like 4th gear exclusively- maybe? Reverse has been a maybe.

I'm happy to have my new Foxwell 530. It said 21 22 31 34 41. I cleared it and drove a short drive and 20 31 34 and 41 came on right away. Once I lay down my little sweetie I'm looking forward to pulling, cleaning, and re-seating any connector I find down there. Pics online suggest driver's side for the wires.

SMH at least I didn't end up on the news washed downriver like the moron I am "yeah I'm the idiot who drove into a running river" >:/

I was in Lansing this morning and some lady was stuck in the middle of a huge puddle in a brand new escape. When I drove by later a tow truck driver was wading out to hook onto her. It was a lot of rain.

Yeah man and I had no idea until I was stopped at a crosswalk and happened to look over and see an apt complex parking lot under water. Up over hoods. Nuts

I couldn't get the trans connector apart. I sprayed in where I could with my handy dandy CRC electronics parts cleaner, but no such luck. Clearing the codes gave me enough time to reverse out of my BIL's driveway, but within a few hundred feet it was back in limp mode.
As an aside, I wish the car would let me start in 4th under normal conditions, it's kind of relaxing.

I do love havta lifted Jeep when there's water over the road.
a few weeks ago there was 20" of water over the road. A minivan was sitting in the middle.
20" isn't even to my rockers.
drone out there, hooked up a strap, and pulled it to dry land.

Is this in your Mopar minivan?

In a previous Mopar minivan thread I wrote the following:

I tow dollied the van home and then drove it around the parking lot a little.  All seemed great.  It was not until I took it out for a loop around the neighborhood that I realized that the speedo didn't work and the trans does not shift.  Was throwing a few trans codes but at the heart was a code for bad speed sensor.  There are two sensors.  Input shaft and output shaft.  Sure enough, the output shaft sensor had broken wires.  Here is the picture of the new one.  It is generally just a bit larger than a spark plug.

On the old one, the black top portion had separated from the white bottom section.  Access is super easy, just turning the front wheel gives you plenty of room to reach.  Jacking the one side of the car up makes it just that much easier.  Amazon $13 for Dorman.

Is your speedometer working?

This sensor is in a pretty vulnerable location on the front of the trans.

That sucks man.  I was amazed at the amount of water, downed trees, and traffic lights out in detroit this week.  I detoured 3-4 times as intersections appeared more than a foot deep.

I did that once in my 944. The police   were waving people through a flooded section of the road. Water got sucked into the TPS and made it run all kinds of strange.  Limped it home and took it apart dried it out and re silicones the TPS sensor back together and applied liberal amounts of dialectic grease to the pin outs in the connector.  Good as new.

No it's the Z4

Yeah I had a friend tell me last night about how his 91 Regal stalled out in water up to the windows - then mid-puddle he REstarted it and drove it home. Drove fine for years after. Ha. Notsomuch

FYI two weeks later it dried out or something because I started it and no light, no problems
