Can we finally just connect the GRM forums directly to our brains? I'm so tired of using keyboards, mice and words to express things on this board. C'mon get with the modern age, GRM!

While we are complaining about buttons... there is giant Go Digital, Read the Latest, and Get Our Newsletter button heading an entirely useless pane on the left taking up 25% of the forums window. If it can't go away... can ya'll use some of that slick javascript you put to use in the header and add a "Folding" button so I can make it collapse?

Shhh, some of that stuff is coming soon, too.

Also, would it be possible to tie screen names to subscriber data? It wouldn't need to be all of the subscriber data, since that could lead to a security breach, just a 1 or 0 if we're subscribers and maybe the expiration date.

That way the ones that are subscribers don't get ads for subscribing or maybe we'd get reminders for renewing.

Similar deal with the newsletter. I get it, its in my email and I appreciate it, but I don't need to be reminded to sign up for something I already have.

Just some things to think about in future revisions as I know they are easier said than done.

An issue I'm having with the banner- when I hit the arrow to take me to the last post, part of it is covered by the new banner. Hope you can fix that.

edit- it also happens with my new post. So both seem to assume that the banner isn't there...

See if clearing your cache helps. I was getting a similar display issue. Clearing the cache fixed it.

And hopefully you noticed that the menu bar now contains the word "forum." No matter where you are on the site, the message board is now just an easy click away. (Plus now it's easier to find builds--both ours and yours.)

Those are cool ideas, but right now I don't see those two databases communicating.

Didn't seem to help. I did here at home, and will tomorrow at work- but I'm getting the same thing on IE11 an chrome.

Yes, that mouse-over menu is terrible. If I get anywhere near it this happens:

Seems... a little big. With this latest "improvement", I have an 8" x 8" usable window, even with everything collapsed. I feel like it's 1984 and I'm using a Mac Plus. No wait, that was a 9" screen.

I'm glad I'm not seeing any of those drop down menus. Mine is just black space from the GRM logo all the way over to my avatar.

That's a function of window width. It doesn't shrink the buttons as you shrink the window or anything, so once they don't all fit, it removes them and replaces them with a menu to the right of the subscribe button.

Ok, this explains why the top right thingy doesn't work on my iPhone anymore. From the main page I used to tap it, it would slide over and show the options, I'd tap forums and off and running. Now I can't get to the forums from the main GRM page.

Edit: Read the whole thread before posting, duh! Cleared cache, and everything works. I like it!

So I'm not getting the drop down unless I specifically mouse over the features part of the menu. Overall it isn't bad.

i couldn't log into the forums on the Firefox browser on my Droid phone last night. the main page loaded about 75% up according to the status bar and just froze there and none of the buttons did anything. works fine on my pc.

sorry for the delay

No buttons or drop down menu at all, (this isn't the only time this does this, just the one I remember.)
No buttons across the top.

This. I keep rolling over it going in/out of the address bar. Annoying.

Well, well, well, what happened to all those people that said, "Hooray black drop down! We love the new obtrusive black dropdown!"? Oh wait, nobody said that. We all hate it.

Seriously guys, kill it. If the black menu bar must stay and the three inch left menu column must stay, I can live with the remaining 8x8 square of usable forum, but when that thing drops down, I'm down to 2" and ain't nobody happy with 2".

It wouldn't be so bad, except I change tabs fairly often. The features drop down lines up with the first two tabs almost perfectly. If it drops, the pointer has to travel most of the way down the page before the thing will close. What are the chances of adding a second or two of delay before it drops. Then it wouldn't constantly be opening accidentally.
