I installed a junkyard 3.73 LSD into my e30 a few weeks ago and it makes all kinds of awful noises - gear whine, bearing noise, etc. The going rate on a used LSD is about $600-700 but most of them are unknown and all over 30 years old. Before I buy another used one, are there any shops in the Atlanta/Athens area that rebuild these for a reasonable price? Any suggestions would be helpful. Thanks!

Back when I lived in those two fine cities, we had a number of shops that serviced the local motorsports community–I even worked at one. Anyone here have a recommendation? Sadly, a lot of the people I worked with are no longer here.

https://www.harrisonmotorsports.com/ might be worth a try. I would personally find another cheap one on ebay or perhaps try to rebuild it yourself?

Southern Gear used to be the go-to place years ago. You have to bring them the diff though, they don't R&R.
