So I found these https://www.harborfreight.com/dirt-bike-stand-67151.html dirtbike stands with an advertised 1000lb capacity each. Do you think 4 of these would work as wheel alignment stands for a 3000lb car? I could modify them by removing the rubber topper then welding on a lip to stop the wheels rolling off and/or a larger platform.

you will likely have more than 1000lb on each corner as you lift it onto the stands. Unless you have a lift. Make sure they are strong enough

Bolt the cribbing onto a HF dolly. I should have done this 10 years ago.

This.  An alignment stand needs to move around and settle. A car sitting on 4 dirt bike stands will not settle and therefore be near impossible to do an aligment on.

Those HF dirt bike stands are tippy little SOB's. I know using one as a step stool is sketchy as a sketchy thing. I keep trying to throw it away but it keeps reappearing in the shop.
