The other day I got a call from a friend:
"My Jeep shifter seems to be leaning to the right, so what do you think is up?"
I asked how it voted in the last election (topical humor).
Long story short, she broke the three bolts that secure the motor mount's bracket to the engine block. It's a 4.0L six-cylinder YJ. The broken bolts have been replaced with new ones, but we're wondering if those "bomb proof" mounts are the long-term solution here. What does the hive know?

Any of the upgraded aftermarket mounts and good bolts should do the trick. In most of the Jeeps of that era, the stock mounts aren't overly prone to breakage, but the rubber bits aren't great and tend to wear out significantly and allow a good bit of movement.
In this case, FWIW, it wasn't the rubber half of the mount that failed--it was the metal bracket that bolts to the engine. And once those bolts failed, gravity won. (stupid gravity)
