I'm talking about rims, not an automobile. Maybe I'm a crusty old man here, but it annoys me when I hear the stance crowd talk about "dream wheels". Like for example, "Yo dawg dem Works are my dream wheelz." I just don't see the big deal about an actual set of rims. Yes I have wheel setups that I'd really like to have, but I wouldn't say it's something I dream about.
Are these just crusty old man "get off my lawn" thoughts?
Never heard the term before, so no it doesn't bother me.
Maybe I spent too much time on the Miata forums.
Not as much "dream wheels" as dreaming I had the money to blow on the badass BBSs I really want.
Otherwise I'm a function over form kinda guy. XXRs on my race car are just fine.
The answer is always steelies.
The term "rims" annoys me.

I mean they're wheels I buy the ones in the correct size with the correct offset for the lowest weight/price. They're wheels who cares what they look like? Some sweet carbon fiber 15x10's with 5.25" backspacing are my dream wheels.

Stamped steel wheels are sketchy for performance use unless they are actual racing wheels.
Makes me think whoever says that should dream bigger...

Especially when it is pronounced as two syllables. Ree-ims.

About as sketchy as cheap cast bootleg alloy wheels, which cost more than racing steel wheels, ironically enough.
Those persnickety whipper snappers are always trying to get my goat with their baloney. I would prefer those wagons are the bee's knees.'
I'd just be happy they were intelligent enough to call them "wheels" not "rims" or "remz"
I think the same thing, and that's it's silly that some people spend so much money on the brand-name fashion-accessory wheels. My "dream wheels," which are not that big of a deal to me and not something I think about often, are +35 15x8 K4Rs 'cuz they're light, cheap, have the right specs and they're not ugly.
We only have dream cars because you have to start with a good platform to have a good performance car. The stance crowd has dream wheels because you can stick them on just about any car, mutilate your suspension and become the king of hard parking.
I'm pretty sure that every 'previous' generation of automotive enthusiasts has said/thought the same about the things said/done by the 'incoming' generation of automotive enthusiasts.

I just don't get that upset about semantics.
