Hi I am embarking on a new venture. I have a v10 triton. They offered the engine in a 2 valve and 3 valve configuration. I want to build a set of 4 valve heads which I am in the process of but I would love to hear some input on it. If there is enough interest I will post pics of the build.

I can build my own cams or pay 2000 to have a set made. I think once I prove to myself and can show the engine run with my "back yard" heads and cams I will have a set of cams made for the blower
$2000 for a set is less than the cost of factory replacement 4V heads for my 4.6 Cobra...

Also the 03 SVT cobra casting was used on the 03-05 Lincoln aviator, being that they were on an suv you can pick up a good used set that are usable for $400 plus shipping
This will sound really odd, but if you can find 4 of some unmachined V8 heads, you can cut and weld them together. Although, if you are really, really clever, perhaps you can do it with 3- if you find the right heads that were the same from side to side. The origninal modular v8 based V12's were made this way.
I'll have to ask how the original V10 4V heads were made- I know who did it. We still have the 4V V10 Mustang in our possession.

That is the plan. I read the v10 test mule article and I love it. We are welding heads together. I wanted to have a set of cobra heads digitized and cnc cut but startup at frakenstine was $15,000.00 and that didn't include material. I can build them for free at work
Gotcha, that makes a lot more sense! Yeah, a 4V V10 sounds like a majorly awesome project!

Oh yeah. .. I love the look of a roots blower but have always been hesitant because the inefficiency but I have solved that., well whipple solved that for me. They now offer an old school roots case with twin screws so you get the hot rod look with the efficient twin screws instead of lobes. For heat transfer I will be using a heat exchanger core like the svt cobras had but instead of a core on the bumper that is a water to air exchanger I will have an icebox essentially, it will consist of an ac core from a random car sitting in an insulated aluminum tank. The v10 excursions had rear ac and heat so I know the factory ac compressor will support the extra core. Set the ac clutch on an rpm and throttle position based switch so if I am cruising it will keep the core cold and the water from the heat exchanger under the supercharger will flow to the "ice box" run over the core to cool then back to the exchanger. It would be great at the track not to have to keep replacing ice in a box but have your own self sufficient system
Flow numbers on the heads tell me that if the compression is matched to the 2003 mach 1 @ 10.1:1 this should be a 145 hp head swap. Now adding boost and cams will make it a lot of fun

OK, to the OP, while Pat (AngryCorvair) is getting his panties in a twist over the lack of pics, can we at least get some more specs on your intended frankenmoter to satiate our appetite? What's the plan for the block? rotating assembly? target chassis etc. Don't leave us hanging here!
If the target chassis hasn't been decided yet, I vote for a mid-engine Ford Escort wagon.
I vote Model A truck with a nose stretch to accommodate the extra motor.
Sounds like a ton of work.

Ok so the engine is a stock 6.8 v10 from a 2000 excursion. The plans for the block are to leave it stock other than cleaning. Gt500 5.4 rods, and pistons. The stock crank will be plenty for the power level I plan to run. The crank will be cryo treated to restructure the grain pattern and hopefully provide extra durability if i want to increase power. Of course the head modifications. I will make my own cams using cobra cams and once the engine runs and I am ready I will have cams made for using a blower which is a roots case with twin screws in it (whipple). An ac compressor powered heat exchange system. Good clutch. Tr6060 face plate mods and an s1 shifter. 2004 crown vic frame to use the front aluminum subframe. 2003 cobra its. 1972 nova right hand drive. Pics to come as I can post them.
My chassis vote is original Mini.
Follow up: is it still mid-engined if the engine is both in front of and behind both axles?

It should fit nicely. I took the duramax out and sold it earlier this year.
