The 944 has been sitting with the same tank of gas for about 2 years now (I've started and run it, but not gone through the gas), and I probably aught to drain and refill it. Any tips or tricks for this?

I'm not sure exactly how much is in there, but I suspect around 5 gallons. Not sure what best to catch the fuel in, or how to dispose of it properly.

I prefer to unhook the line coming from the pump, extend it into a can and and short the fuel pump relay.

The 944spec racers add a switch to short the fuel pump relay so they can drain the tank for the offseason.

I don't think two years is too much to worry about. I bought a minivan that sat for a couple years. The has still smelled fine. I just drove it to the gas station and topped it off with fresh gas.
