Our friend John Nikas is driving a 1953 Austin Healey 100 all over creation to raise awareness for cancer. So, why do we care? One, if he's heading to your neck of the woods, maybe it's worth checking out. He's a neat guy and it's an amazing story.
Also, this is not a restored trailer queen being followed by a convoy of support vehicles. This is one guy, no convertible top, and a Healey that really can use a total restoration. So, if he runs into trouble and needs some help, maybe some GRMers can give him a hand.
He was at the Mitty this past weekend, and I believe he's in the Carolinas right now.

i applaud him. cancer has never really hit home for me until last week when my sister's fiancee was diagnosed with lymphoma and has a tumor in his sinus and will be getting intense chemo and radiation for the next 6-8 weeks.
I couldn't tell what his itinerary is, but our British car club meets at the Beacon at 9:00 Saturday (tomorrow) morning. We would love to have him stop by.
Slight correction: the website is driveawaycancernow.org – Pat's just goes to a "domain name for sale" thing. A cool idea, and I wish the guy well.

Where's the Beacon? Post the full details--complete address including city and state--and I can pass along.

If you get to Spartanburg, South Carolina ask anybody on the street. It's a well known drive-in that has been there 50+ years.
The Beacon's address is 255 John B. White Sr. Boulevard (previously Reidville Road) . John B. White Sr. was the founder and long time owner of the Beacon so you see how that happened. The current co-owner of this fine establishment is our current president of your car club (Southeast British Motorcar Owners Club (SBMOC). We meet around 8:15 am for breakfast and the meeting starts at 9:00. You will see all sorts of LBCs in the parking lot.
And looks like the Healey is now in Alabama. It gets around.
