It is certainly a custom job, but I have never seen one like it. Interesting how the flares extend to the doors. Would be a dang good hauler with the 502 in it!

I saw a body style like the one Bob hotlinked that had single Mickey Thompsons as wide as duels on the rear. It was saaaaaawweeeeeett!

The PS cap and reservoir is very dirty, kinda like flood damage. That's what I suspect.
There is NO WAY that thing gets 20mpg. Maybe if you've got the engine at idle and the transmission in neutral going down a very long mountain. Otherwise that's a 11-12mpg truck empty and 8mpg towing.
That looks like a very regretful suburban owner that can't get nearly a sale price as good as a part out.
Yes, or he moved and has to meet smog requirements with an engine swap? I don't know anything about the edelbrock stuff he mentions, or Utah. I could see this happening in California.

That's pretty cool right there. I've seen a couple of them.
A few years ago, I happened to have a 80's vintage P30 stepvan and a similar age Suburban in the shop. I figured out that the Pvan had a narrower diff than the truck, and with a tub inside, and a mild flare on the fender, it would fit without the big fenders. I think.
Only good reason to have duals is to haul a bunch of weight over the rear axle. Otherwise E rated tires gets you way more capacity than you'll ever need and doesn't add two more tires to buy.

how do you know how much capacity people will need? i probably should have had a dually when i had 4500 pounds of scrap iron in the back of my GMC 3/4 ton truck.. and the dually wheels are for more than the load rating- they help keep large trailers under control due to the extra rubber on the road and wider track.
plus they just look cool..
In reply to RossD:
Around '89-'90 I saw one cruising downtown Indy like that, only it was slammed and painted some fabulous late-80's/early-90's minitruck color scheme.
I was sad to come across this 6.2 diesel-powered one in the junkyard last year:
I'd have happily paid whatever they got from the junkyard for it.

I've had a blowout before...I'll keep my duals thanks. A blow out while towing SUCKS. I also love the extra stability. I don't have to buy tires for it often, so that's really a non issue compared to the benefits.
Saw a 99-06 body style dually Sub for sale on craigslist in jersey, but can't find it anymore.
Here you can build all the dually Suburbans you want (toward the bottom of the page)

Edit: Found it again. Wants way too much for it, but interesting nonetheless.
Here's a squarebody dually Suburban for sale right now:

The one in Jersey is now on ebay.
