A friend's mom has one (I think it's XRS trim) which has a damaged left front splash shield (torn off tab where it should have a screw holding it to the air dam).

I fouled up and ordered the wrong bit from Rock Auto (turned out to be one for under but behind the center front tray and up next to the engine).

The bit I need to replace fills in the area beteween the front left corner of the air dam and the LF wheel. What I'm starting to worry is whether that's actually part of the inner fender liner. I emailed the local Toyota dealer because I was having trouble finding it online, and despite explaining the above, got a quote for the same next-to-the-engine splash guard that I got from Rock Auto.

So... anybody have a Matrix handy? Can you tell me whether I'm looking for a separate undertray, or whether I'm actually looking at the entire wheelwell liner?

Muchas arigato...

If it's the vaguely triangular piece directly in front of the LF wheel then yes, it's part of the fender liner.  OE part should be 53876-02250.

Ach, foo. But thank you. Better to know the truth, no matter how much more annoying the task just got.

Double thanks for the part number!
