GRM should do a winter $2xxx challenge. On a frozen lake. In Minnesota, or some other freakishly cold place. Winter rally-cross. Snow drags. Concours. I will not be attending.

Not all that up on ice racing, but wouldn't a lot of peoples standard ice racers qualify?
I thought those were challenge car territory to begin with. (read, just about akin to a LeMons car)
That's the dumbest idea you ever had? You didn't even get hurt or loose money! Your dumb ideas need work my friend. I'd be happy to assist.
But I do like the idea!

But then it would have to be $20xx challenge + 17% plus duty fees, and don't forget the exchange rate.
I'd be down if it could be within 10hrs.
I DD ice racing tires on my Mazda and have been dying for another set.

That's exactly how I feel about the current $20xx challenge. Still won't stop me from entering an El-Camino FC in the $2019 challenge
There was talk of an ice Lemons on a lake near the St.Lawrence river last winter. don't know if it ever came off
Chumpcar already does ice racing... they also have a big rig road racing series...
and yes, pretty much every ice racer would come in way under challenge price.. a lot of times, they are just regular cars with snow tires on and a snowmobile or motorcycle helmet on the driver...
I like the idea, if only because it would probably be closer to home.
Also, while pretty much every ice racer car I know of would qualify under budget very easily, they would also have a lot of problem with the concours aspect of the challenge. There usually isn't one straight panel on those cars.
GRM is in florida. Do you know how thin their blood is from all that nice weather? they would freeze to death within 10 minutes of stepping off of the plane
