We had a great time constructing, racing, and sharing the $2007 Challenge ChEaparral Sucker Corvette. Since the competition last year, the car has been used in Cincinnati schools to promote science & engineering, has attended a few car shows, and was even test driven by Jay Leno & racing legend Jim Hall! (Thanks Tim!)

We have decided to sell the car to benefit the Cincinnati United Way. It is currently featured on the e-bay home page and at http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Cars-Trucks___Cheaparral-Sucker-Vette-Jay-Leno-Jim-Hall-signed_W0QQitemZ330289643928QQddnZCarsQ20Q26Q20TrucksQQddiZ2282QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUS_Cars_Trucks?hash=item330289643928&_trksid=p4506.c0.m245&_trkparms=72%3A727%7C65%3A12%7C39%3A1%7C240%3A1318 You can also read more at http://www.cheaparral.com/ My favorite videos are of Jim Hall demonstrating the car without and with the sucker fan running.

We have really enjoyed the opportunity to participate in the GRM $2007 Challenge and all of the great people we met. Building a Challenge Car is a truly memorable life experience. I highly recommend going for it if you are thinking about it! We also appreciate the great work by the GRM staff to organize such a fun and cool event. Keep up the great work!

Hopefully the new owner of our car will enjoy the car as much as we have. It will make a very unique addition to any car collection. So if you were ever curious what a retired Challenge Car could sell for, I guess we will find out soon!

Cliff, when are the P&G boys building another Challenge car? I mean, sure you won the overall with your maiden effort, but we all know that if the drags weren't rained out you would've gotten your asses handed to you by [paraphrase] a bunch of drunk guys from georgia and a guy from pennsylvania who throws junk together in a dirt-floor barn.[/paraphrase]

Oh, and before you get all riled up and call me a douche, i hope you've been lurking on this board for long enough to know that E36 M3-talking among Challengers is just part of the fun....

In Andy's defense, his floor is mostly concrete.

Since when does Andy need defense? Starting with 2004, he's won 100% of the Challenge drags to date.

I heard his next effort will be so fast it will be able to turn back time, so he can win 2003, too. Andy's like Superman with a welding helmet.

This auction just proves you can't buy a Corvette for under $2008...

I think this is a real class-act, seriously, from start to finish their whole exercise has been one of the true GRMer. That is, first and foremost do something origional, and second, beat the pants off more expensive cars for dirt cheap! Adding the charitable contribution aspect really shows the GR spirit, why build something that showcases your talents and make a buck, when you can pass it off to someone else to enjoy AND help those in need. In the end this car has more 'wins' than any GRM car to date. Seriously, well done, again.
