I recently purchased an E30 Touring (non-AC) in Germany and I am starting to go through all of the issues now that I am unable to go out into the real world.

When I purchased the car the blower felt like it was on its last leg on the test drive and ride home. Now it's completely gone. It used to work in all speeds, with 4 being the strongest speed. This led me to believe that it was the blower motor resistor.

Troubleshooting steps:

1. Bench tested K7 relay. It was good.

2. Removed blower motor resistor. I checked across all of the pins for any open circuits. I was getting a solid 0.5-3.0 ohms depending on the pin. The piece is old and rusty but the continuity seems to be there. It's a non-AC car so the resistor is under the dash.

3. I pulled out the blower motor. It was difficult to turn at first but I greased up the bearings and was able to get it to spin freely. I then bench tested the motor and it had no problem turning. With the car running, I tried to measure voltage at the motor on each speed but got nothing.

At this point I am stumped. Could the switch in the cabin be bad? That's the only thing I haven't tested. Possibly a bad ground? The car sat for nearly 7 years so a lot of little gremlins are creeping up. I would love for some advice on possible next steps.

Dumb question: you've checked the fuse, right?
