I'm building a couple of E36s (one sedan to sell and one coupe to use as a $200X Challenge car). I've learned that not many body panels interchange between coupes and sedans. I read, however, that all body styles share the same front sheet metal, except for the coupes. If that's true, I could use a ti or convertible hood on my 4dr sedan. There's a 318ti in the local pick'n'pull junkyard with a mint OE hood. Before I buy parts that may not fit, can anyone confirm this theory?

Sedan and Compact should be the same from B-pillar forward - cross reference part numbers in RealOEM to be sure?

Coupe and Convertible share body parts as well.

Ti and sedans share front ends. I replaced the fenders on my ti with sedan parts.
