OK guys, time to pick your minds.

  1. 2002 E46 330xi auto, has a (cold) starting issue
  2. Battery checked out as good
  3. Alternator checked as 14.2 volts, 13.9 under heavy load, factory book says this is within tolerances.

Car is acting like the battery is weak since the weather got cold, insert key to get a fuel pump sound and a click, click, click from starter but not turning over.

When the mornings are warm it starts, but I suspect the problem is getting worse.

By the way, where is the damn starter located

NB found the info but thought I would post it up in case anybody else has this problem

Battery connections good? Grounds clean and tight?

The starter is located on the drivers side of the block under the intake manifold.

While cranking check voltage at the jump/charge positive terminal on the intake manifold, that terminal is connected directly to the starter so it should eliminate/confirm upstream voltage drops.
