So I replaced my CMC 2 weeks ago, but now my clutch is catching really low again. What could be the culprit? Hoping for cheap fixes If it were bubbles/air would 2 it take 2 weeks?

Thanks!

Could be air, try bleeding it again. What is the condition of the slave cylinder? If it hasn't been replaced it may be leaking. Other than that look for any signs of leaks.

I dont know if it's leaking but my fluid level is the same as before. I guess i'll take a rag to it

I'd bet it's the slave. When the master goes, the slave usually isn't far behind. How is the fluid level and color??

Check your fluid (level and bubbles) like the others have said, and if that's just fine, my money is on the CSC

just bled the fluid, was diarrhea colored. After i finished my pedal felt easier to push than before, so i did it again and it still felt easier to push than when i installed the CMC. The level was same as i left it and i took a rag to the CSC and got nothing. It catches closer to normal now but i'm not sure if its my mind.

as I wrote this post I decided to go for a longer drive. Feels awesome Thanks so much for answering my newbie question without yelling search!

glad it worked out. Yes, get it to the point where there are NO bubbles, NO gunk, and NO NOTHING!! (except clean fluid of course!)

I typically try to run fluid through until I can go a full 10 pumps without any bubbles

You will find that "NOOB SEARCH!!" is not part of our collective vocabulary here. We play nice with new folks.

Dude, that's dead seals somewhere. If you've done the master cyl correctly, that crap has to be from the slave.

Forget the pedal feel, how does the clutch engagement feel? And how long will the good feeling last? Last car I had with a hydraulic clutch system felt right after a fluid bleed, but it only lasted a couple of weeks because the slave had bad seals-and a leak. Only took it a couple of weeks before it was screwed up again.

Eh, we try not to do that (search Nazi) stuff here. Most of us have used older cars for daily drivers for so long that we know you can't waste a couple of hours on a site search when you need the car back to get to work the next day..

no one yells search because the search is broken!

This. And slave cylinder's are usually cheap enough, if I have to do a clutch, I just go ahead and put a new slave on too.

I had a clutch put in my 4-Runner and when it was over everything was the same. mechanic mis--diagnosed; really was the slave not the costly clutch.

Meh, this is how we learn ....
